I actually did a couples shoot with Kristy and her boyfriend on Valentine’s day which I have yet to blog (I will soon! They have a cute story.) After that shoot she wanted to try a boudoir session, so in March we did. I just love the energy Kristy brought with her. She’s probably used to being the presence in the room because she’s stunning and incredibly TALL (compared to me anyway), and I don’t think there were any exceptions during our shoot. She rocked it! Kristy has a wicked smile and I didn’t want her to hide it too much during the shoot, and I’m glad she let me make her laugh for some of the shots.

Check out her dimples and try not to like this girl.

Tanya is the girl who knows the girl who knows a girl. She’s a connector, as Malcolm Gladwell would say. She referred many a client my way and I’m so thankful I’ve met so many wonderful people because of her. I hope we’ll work together again.

This shoot was actually done in January. I know right…I’m pathetic as far as getting posts done right away. In fact, I’ve got TONS of shoots to blog about so stay tuned!

I get giddy when I hear back from my clients and they tell me good things (that I didn’t screw up, basically). It’s just confirmation of what I was trying to accomplish I suppose. I get so much personal fulfillment out of making my clients images that they’ll have forever, that they’ll cherish.

Kari’s email to me after she saw her photos literally made my week. At the risk of being incredibly tacky posting it, I just have to share because it really means a lot to have a client say such amazing things:

It’s late and I just got home from a girls night out and all I can say is WOW!!!! I am so impressed by your photographic ability!!! It is going to be tough to choose. Thanks so much for the day spent with you – you are definitely going places girl – you have the eye – you have the talent. I honestly cant say more than WOW!! Way better than I ever expected. Kudos to Chelsea as well for a FABULOUS job on the makeup!! I am so impressed with both of you. Thank you thank you thank you!!! You have captured everything I hoped you would.

See what I mean? The reciprocation of good feelings and warm hugs and soft fuzzies exists in boudoir photography. I love it!

She brought her own makeup/hair artist and came with a plan. I love when clients bring images of what they like because I soak up the inspiration. It also helps align the client’s vision for the shoot along with mine. Literally, so we’re on the same page. She had pictures for what she wanted her hair to look like, her makeup to look like and some poses that she wanted to try out. She showed me images from Maxim magazine that inspired some ideas for the shoot and I have to say, I loved the idea. Seriously, how cute is the coffee cup/newspaper idea?!

Christina rocked the long sexy hair, the boudoir eyes and the hawt little outfits. She came with many ideas and fired off poses like nobody’s business! I love it when I get a creative spirit in the room with me and the magic just flows from there. She had her hair shaking, her body twisting, all while keeping her face so pretty.

Yes…she’s a natural all the way.

One thing I noticed about her is that her smile shows how she’s really feeling – not a good poker face at all – but again, extremely charming. This girl has definitely lived up to her name.

I’d stop there and you’d all know what I meant. But this girl is funny! That makes it even less fair but makes her all the more charming.  I had the pleasure of rocking a tandem boudoir session with Lauren and her friend Chelsea last December.

I was dying to get a great flirty laughing shot of Chelsea and asked if Lauren could help out.   I figured if anyone could make someone laugh, it was their good friend.   Not the geeky photographer.  The now classic “Charlie bit my finger!” was in Lauren’s bag of tricks and it worked wonderfully.  I had no idea what the deal was at the time, especially since Lauren enunciated it (perfectly) like a 4 year old British boy.   Nevertheless, I was happy that I got some beautiful photos out of it.

Thanks to my beatiful comedian assistant, Lauren for helping me get those shots and thanks for spicing up my blog a little bit too.

I knew after emailing back and forth planning the shoot that she was going to be bubbly, bright and full of smiles. And that’s exactly what she was when I met her. Though we never met before the shoot, I know that we will continue to stay in touch. Chelsea is just one of those people that is easy to talk to, easy to relate to, and easy to photograph. A photog’s dream come true! As a matter of fact, she will be doing makeup for my upcoming Valentine’s Boudoir Sessions!

Chelsea, it was so nice to meet you and I’m glad our paths have crossed!

Yes, this is the same girl you’ve seen on my blog several times. When we first started working together at an insurance company, she thought I was stand offish…a mild snob. I thought she was nice but that she could definitely warm up a bit. Neither of us realized that there was a connection there…we just didn’t know it yet. We were wrapped up in our jobs as people tend to do. Not once did either of us try to reach out in over a year of working in the same office.

When I changed departments and she became my trainer, we clicked instantly. It was like we found that person that could get us through the long, routine days of insurance. I looked forward to going to work for a change! Laughter flowed, candy was shared, office politics were discussed. We talked about Chuck Norris. A lot. One day the Chuck Norrising got out of hand when Trisha pretended to give me a roundhouse kick to the face, only to have her size 5 shoe fly off into the reception area. I cried with laughter. The receptionist didn’t.

This girl should have been born in the 40’s. She is a total pinup! And those shoes…such good taste!

I have been soaking up as much inspiration as I can lately and I can tell that 2010 is going to be the year of boudoir. Dior has a beautiful Spring Boudoir makeup collection. And just check out what hit the runways of Jean Paul Gaultier, Marc Jacobs and Dolce & Gabbana for Spring 2010 collections. More romantic than early 90’s, the looks still retain some of the in-your-face attitude of that decade. Can you say Strike a Pose?
